Full Bio
Leroy Godfrey Jr. is a dedicated servant-leader who has spent his life invested in faith, family, business, community, and service. A Christian minister and associate pastor, Sunday school superintendent and teacher, small-business owner, and disabled United States veteran, Leroy has been a consistent voice for Berkeley County residents as the county's rapid growth has outpaced its roads, schools, drainage, and public services.
Before entering the race, Leroy spoke publicly before the Berkeley County Planning Commission on behalf of residents concerned about large-scale development approvals — advocacy documented by The Berkeley Observer and in official county meeting recordings. He is running for Berkeley County Council District 6 on a simple standard: growth must be planned, funded, and supported before — not after — the consequences reach residents' neighborhoods. His campaign slogan: “A Common-Sense Change Is on the Way.”
