Before asking voters for their support, Leroy Godfrey Jr. was already standing before county leaders and speaking out about traffic, school capacity, emergency services, infrastructure, and the long-term consequences of poorly planned growth.

Facing a proposed 5,500-home Cane Bay expansion, District 6 residents filled the room. Leroy stood up as one of them — warning the commission that approvals cannot be undone once the land is cleared.
